Mr. Allen began his career at the Los Angeles Community Design Center as a VISTA Volunteer in 1976.  He joined Meyer & Allen Associates in 1979, became a partner in 1982 and assumed full ownership of the firm in 1992.

Mr. Allen’s undergraduate education combined architectural design, engineering and sociology to provide the tools necessary to design today’s complex buildings.  His graduate education combined architectural and urban design with city planning to provide the tools necessary to plan today’s complex campuses and urban environments.

In keeping with his diverse educational background, Mr. Allen’s architectural projects range from Covenant House California’s Hollywood Shelter to the City of Commerce’s Aquatorium; his urban design credits range from the Master Plan for California Institute of Technology to the Specific Plan for the Central City West District of Downtown Los Angeles.
